Project Type Residential
Roney Point House has a rarely seen wall construction; engineered honeycomb concrete panelling. The client’s brief was to transform this dark and cold bungalow into a bright, open, energy efficient holiday home with the inclusion of a small extension.
The design centred around making the existing chimney the heart of the home whilst also opening up the habitable spaces to the outside to bring in swathes of natural daylight through the rear extension. As this is a holiday home the interaction between the kitchen, dining, living space and the garden was particularly important. The dwelling was also modernised to bring it up to today’s living standards with an A2 BER rating upon completion.
